Twin Cities for RENT

That’s right, we’re to be more for RENT than anywhere else in the country. Rent, the musical that is. It’s returning to St. Paul for its eighth visit, whose Ordway Center for the Performing Arts holds the record for the number of times hosting the show. Each time it comes, some of the shows sell out, but there are still tickets available this time around. It’s a short visit, only showing from the 17th to the 22nd of June (that’s Tuesday through Sunday), before continuing on to Stamford, CT. If you’re a fan of American Idol, Anwar Robinson, one of the finalists from Season 4 is in the cast, as well as the winner of South African Idol, Heinz Winckler. Kevin McCollum, the producer of Rent, is the former president of the Ordway Center, from 1995-2002, when he stepped down to become the artistic producer for the Ordway. I’m sure that means that the performances at the Ordway get that little extra touch, and why it keeps coming back here.

I’ve seen Rent twice. Once at the Ordway and once in NYC. Didn’t like it either time. Don’t plan on seeing it again. So why is this important?

Maybe it’s not important to you, but it might be to someone else who hasn’t seen it. Plus Jason give us a nice little TC connection.

    Sheesh, tough crowd.

I haven’t seen it yet. I have two sets of friends with really good mezzanine tix going that have never seen it and I’m curious about their input.

The rest of my friends, that have seen it, love it.
