Al Franken making news for workers comp fee fines

Minnesota Democrats Exposed broke the story. Now the MSM is catching up.

For some reason the new MB WordPress page won’t let me embed this YouTube video, so CLICK HERE.

Update; I changed the headline per some (valid) comments that I was falling into the spin trap. What do you think of the “scandal”?

Characterizing it has "hiding out" is disingenuous as best. He moved from new york and they lost track of him. This is not a disputed fact. As someone who has recently moved a couple times, I have firsthand knowledge of how bureaucracies are not up to date on changes of addresses.

Furthermore, this is a fine for failing to keep workman’s comp, which could be a simple oversight on the part of Franken’s company. I fail to see how there’s anything here which proves any malicious intent on his part. The fact that he’s owning up to the oversight, paying the fine, and vowing to get to the bottom of it speaks to that fact.

This post, along with MDE and much of the media is extremely misleading and dishonest.

Al Franken was notified recently that he apparently failed to carry workers’ compensation insurance. He did not fail on "workers compensation" or "workers comp fees" and he didn’t "hide out" nor intentionally "avoid." This is strictly about not carrying workers’ compensation insurance.

(disclaimer, I am a Franken supporter, but at the same time I’m interested in the truth and honesty… and MDE generally delivers neither.)

Ha.The title of the post is supposed to ring sarcastic. It’s not like Franken has made himself hard to find. And of course, the news clips are mostly Fox News, so there you go.I do commend him on paying it immediately rather than fighting it.

    Greg-

I don’t see it sarcastically. It sounds exactly how some people take specific bits and pieces to draw the misleading conclusions. Also known as spin. So your sarcasm looks exactly the same as spin.

Which is exactly what Michael Brodkorb is trying to do. Some of the MSM, Fox News and Metroblogging Minneapolis fell right into it.
