A local baseball legend has passed

Things won’t be the same without legendary Twins radio announcer Herb Carneal. He passed away today at the age of 83.

Carneal was a huge part of Twins baseball for me. I remember spending a lot of time in the summer of ’91 listening to him on ‘CCO with my dad while in the garage doing work. That was such a magical season, and having Carneal call it just made it that much more special.

In recent years, Carneal had only called home games, and was scheduled to only call around 30 games this year.

You’ll have to forgive me for not being familiar. So this guy is kind of like the Harry Caray of the Twins?

Kinda like Harry Caray, but he was broadcast in Minnesota, so not as flamboyant.
