Around the World in 50 Hours

KVSC 88.1FM out of St. Cloud is hosting their annual Trivia Weekend this weekend. It actually started about 2 hours ago and will run until 7pm on Sunday – it’s 50 straight hours of trivia junkies Googling until they never want to Google again.

The contest started in 1980 to alleviate Minnesota’s infamous cabin fever, according to the contest’s fact sheet.

Last year, I joined in after a night of drinking and ended up falling asleep four hours into my appearance. This year, I’m pulling an early morning shift tomorrow and following it up with the all night Saturday/all day Sunday shift as part of a team from the Twin Cities. So far, we’re 52nd out of 80th. But it’s early!

I know last year there were several locals teams. Is anyone else taking place in this trivia marathon? Because it’s so on, if you are.

I’m on a team playing from a house in Bryn Mawr right now, and we’re in 28th place. Rock!

If you don’t have anything going on tonight, I’m sure you could join in with us!
