Which Minneapolis Companies Are Great for GLBT Employees?

The Human Rights Campaign released a list of top GLBT friendly employers, and once again Minneapolis did very well. Here are the 8 Minnesota-based companies that made the list (of 142 total):

Ameriprise Financial, Inc., Cargill, Inc., General Mills, Inc., Carlson Companies, Inc., Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America, Dorsey and Whitney, Faegre and Benson, Best Buy Co., Inc.

I guarantee you’ll see these businesses at Twin Cities Pride this year. We should all stop by and say thanks for supporting equality in the private sector, even if the public sector is taking its sweet time.

I wasn’t in a position to take advantage of any of the monetary benefits when I worked at the Mills. But the environment seemed pretty welcoming. I wasn’t that out when I was there so I didn’t explore it as much as I could have, but I always got a pretty good vibe about it all. They have a pretty active employee group (known as “Betty’s Family”).
