Granite City
I have discovered it. By “it” I am not referring to the variable that ebay is using for the goods they sell. Rather I am referring to the bar at which I am making myself a regular. I’ve never really been a regular anywhere, except Perkins before growing to drinking age. The watering hole which I now call home is Grainite City in St. Louis Park. Granite City brews their own beer and has great recipes, all of which I have found delicious. They have also sucked me in with their “Mug Club,” which gives you discounts and you can rack up points to redeem for decently cool things (i.e.: drink 25 beers or so and get a free hat, drink about 100 beers and you get a free growler of their beer, and so on). But above all, if you visit this haven I have made mine, you must try their chicken caeser chalupa appetizer, with the chicken tossed in buffalo sauce (those in the know call it “buff tossed”). Seriously amazingly tasty.
Yea Granite City is pretty dang good, for a chain.
the oatmeal stout-like beer is amazing. the place reminds me of a poor man’s great dane, a madison, wi restaurant/pub
I had to skip out on dinner with some friends there the other day. I’ll have to make sure I get back.
Especially since there’s an oatmeal stout. And I love the Great Dane.
One of few chains that Des Moines, Iowa (where I’m from) actually had before the Twin Cities. Not bad – the Eagan one is pretty loud when it’s full. Definitely not a place to take Grandma on a Tuesday night.
Congrats on finding the latest in chain dining.
Thanks. It’s actually a chain that started in St. Cloud, MN seven years ago. So using the term “chain dining” sounds like I just came out praising the wonders of Perkins or Applebees (dollar beers for happy hour last time I checked.)
Absolutely agree…buff tossed Chicken Cesear Chalupas are awesome!
I’ve only been to the Maple Grove site, but it is to die for. I’m happy more people get to enjoy it.

My favorite is their Chicken lasagna. I find regular lasagna icky, but this one has alfredo sauce!
Chicken lasagna with alfredo sauce? For real? I’m-a have to try that.
