Fringe: Tales to tickle a striped-ass baboon and Toward Canterbury
So… if you happen to be fringing this weekend, Tales… is worth a look. It’s modern dance. I’m not really a fan of modern dance, but this wasn’t too bad… and I think that’s the point of the show… to get people into dance. This show featured a couple cool things:
- Explicit Nudity (in one small act)
- Joshua Scrimshaw’s Redneck Interpretive Dance
The latter I saw at a Scrimshaw show before, that’s almost worth the price of admission at this show.
Toward Canterbury was a whole ‘nother affair all together. It’s in beautiful Whittier Park (oh and did oh so much seem out of place). It’s a retelling of some (raunchy) stories by Chaucer with… of course… the inevitable… modern twist! But don’t worry it’s good… and it’s in the park. And it’s easy to sneak into I think! But maybe pay, because they deserve it.
Tomorrow’s showing of Tales is on my schedule.
I think if you come up on it from 27th, it’s on the south west side of the school by the steps. Just look for the congregation of white people. =)
