Too Hot to Post?

hot.jpg Almost. (Picture taken from NOAA’s website describing today’s forecast as “Hot.”)

I figured we’d have a slew of posts since everyone would be hunkered down inside their houses with the AC and the computer. But even in my air-conditioned apartment, it’s still stuffy and uncomfortable, and keeping the hot laptop…well, on my lap is uncomfortable at best.

I’m going to try to beat the heat today by going swimming. Rumor has it that the cleanest lakes around town are Square Lake, Turtle Lake, and Sweeney Lake.

Jason, I hope you’re staying cool while playing softball!

I, for one, really just have nothing to post since the heat wave has made me pretty much housebound. I go to work, come home, water my gardens, and then sit in my cooled room for the rest of the night. I did leave the house a bit today, though, to suck up some AC at the Roseville 4’s showing of The Fast and the Furious: The Preposterous Third Sequel. The flick was awesomely terrible.

The lake was awesomely awesome. We went to Turtle Lake which is in Shoreview. It wasn’t too crowded. The water was not disgusting, and most importantly, it was coooooooooool. :D

Yeah, um the apartment complex where I live lost more air conditioning units than they could fix, making my flooding kitchen look the last priority. I spent the whole day mopping up gray water waiting for them to come fix the leaks (they made it at 9 p.m., 8 hours after I called).

I’m an ocean kinda guy. I like saltwater and tides and sandy beaches. I dislike freshwater rivers and lakes and usually avoid them like the plague but I went anyway since it was that hot.

I was not eaten by leeches nor did anything swim into any of my assorted orifices and cause me bodily harm.

I’m quite happy to still be alive and had much fun to the extent I will probably do it again.

Eaten by leeches? Have you been watching the movie Stand By Me? I’m glad you made it back alive;)

I chose to make another attempt at removing paint from some brick on the front of my house yesterday…yeah, in 100 degree heat. We took turns spraying the brick with the pressure washer and then spraying each other, so it worked out.
