No more Dr. Laura

I usually listen to FM 107 in the mornings. At noon, I flip over to MPR, because Dr. Laura comes on.

I was pleased to get an email today stating that as of January 2, Dr. Laura will no longer be airing and will be replaced by the Satellite Sisters.

I’m sure programming decisions have a long-ish lead time, so I hope that’s the main reason why it took them so damn long to drop Dr. Laura. I mean, really. She’s an awful awful person. Although it’s kind of funny to listen to people call in to one show or another and go off on a completely unrelated tangent about how the station should drop Dr. Laura. And she is skanky.

I’m loving the FM107 decision to drop Dr. Laura. I still remember when I heard the news – I was so excited to tell everyone – I couldn’t get out of my car quick enough. I was always so quick to change the station as soon as I heard the Dr. Laura music.

How are you liking the Satellite Sisters thus far? I still can’t tell them apart yet, but that will eventually come with time. So far so good!

I occasionally caught The Satellite Sisters when they would play them on the weekend (Sundays, I think). I like ’em well enough. Enough to listen to them if MPR is boring that day.

And they’re way the hell better than Ian and Margery. But nobody beats Kevyn and Colleen.

I loved Dr. Laura and will miss her. Wonder if you ever listened to the show or just bought the media hype.

I did actually listen to her. More than I’m comfortable admitting. And I still think she’s ridiculous.
