Trader Joe’s Coming to St. Paul

On University Ave, near I-94 and Hwy 280. A developer is asking, and Trader Joe’s seems interested. This would be in addition to the one already slated to go in in St Louis Park.

Two-Buck Chuck for the east side!

I can’t decide to be sullen or excited by news of Trader Joe’s in the area. Sullen because I have to wait for it, or excited because I know it’s eventually coming.

Two Buck Chuck is gross. It is even worse than Yellow Tail. I have probably just offended half of the population of the Twin Cities…

    *gasp* Nate!

I’ve never actually tried the Two-Buck Chuck, so I don’t know. And I’m not really much of a wine drinker, either.

    What would you recommend?

I am so excited about this. I am living in Arizona and moving back home to Minneapolis in March. One of the things I would miss most about AZ is Trader Joe’s. Oh yeah and warm weather. Nevertheless, I have heard these rumors for so long and have been asking the TJ’s here repeatedly and they all say it is coming. I want Proof! I want Dates! Otherwise I have to figure out my own supply chain.

I have a perfect location for Trader Joe’s in Woodbury at the old Best Buy and Frank’s location. I think the store would be well received in the community and the Twin Cities.

For those of you who are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Trader Joes to MN. I spoke with a TJ’s rep today on the phone. @ (626) 599-3817 Should you be interested in calling on your own. And he said ” TJ’s is going to St Louis Park. Projected opening date of May 19th 2006 with a 1,400 SQF store (which is on the larger side). Yippee!!!

Actually I find Two Buck Chucks (C. Shaws) to be usually better than Yellow Tail (crappy Aussie Shiraz). At least Nate & I agree that YT sux. Some of the Arg Malbecs offer great big jamminess for the buck now. Thats my most recent every day wine. Specifically the Altos, regular Malbec.

As for Trader Joe’s – expect the St. Louis park one to be one of the best yet. Probably looking at 5-10 TJ’s within the next 2 years.

  8. Alex (unregistered) on January 25th, 2006 @ 1:31 pm now lists St. Louis Park, MN as “opening soon”. It doesn’t get any more official than this!
