Traffic Maps n’ Cams

honkhonkbeepbeep.JPGI was looking for a good traffic camera map this morning and remembered my post from almost a year ago. Roads aren’t too bad right now, but if you believe the hype, you know it’s going to be hell before we know it.

Just in case, here’s a rundown of the major traffic maps/cams: Google Maps interactive traffic map, DOT’s map and traffic cams here, Traffic.com’s, WCCO’s, KARE11’s, Star Tribune’s, KSTP’s, and here’s an Apple Dashboard traffic cam widget.

On the main google maps page, they have traffic overlays now as well.

I started using that Google maps dealio after you posted that the first time. I love it!

Drive in today wasn’t so bad. I purposely went slow, and I made it to work in about the same amount of time. Drive home ought to suck, though. I’m hoping to skip out early. I’ve been looking obsessively at these charts.

I can’t stop watching those MnDOT traffic cams, either. Not that they look radically different between refreshes.
