How a MN reporter almost disrupted Steve Jobs’ iPod unveil
I’m a big fan of Jon Gordon’s Future Tense on MPR (also broadcast nationwide during broadcasts of the CBC’s As It Happens).
Well, Jon was at MacWorld yesterday as Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone — which if you aren’t familiar with by 10 a.m. this morning, perhaps you’re a cave-dwelling hermit — to cover the story for MPR.
And while tech geeks across the country scoured the net for up-to-the-minute updates during the presentation, Jon had an unforgettable experience amongst the press corps scrambling to cover the news. Here’s the highlight:
Problem is, I sort of clumsily fell through the bars, tripped as I hit the floor, and become entangled in a giant curtain (that thing must have been fifty feet tall) just left of the stage where Jobs was about to appear. I almost brought that thing down in some kind of crazy Lucille Ball moment.
