More Tools for Voters
We’ve already mentioned MPR’s “candidate agreement tool.”
At the Star Tribune’s MyVote feature, you put in your address and it tells you which candidates and issues will be on your ballot. You can print it off and take it with you when you vote. It also tells you where your polling place is and how to get there.
The Secretary of State’s Voter Information Portal has all kinds of info. The FAQ contains the list of acceptable identification needed for same-day registration. Since my driver’s license address is not current and my rental company pays all my utilities for me and sends me an itemized bill that looks like it came off a dot-matrix printer, I was relieved to find that a cell phone bill counts as a utility bill.
