Tracking traffic in the Twin Cities

honkhonkbeepbeep.JPGWow, I never realized how many different Web sites track the traffic in the Twin Cities.

And while I hope we’re prepping for March going out like a lamb, with this past storm I stumbled on THIS awesome interactive traffic map last week and had to share.

It’s a Google Maps-integrated site featuring web cams, estimated travel times, accidents and more using feeds from various public Web sites.

Check it out and then compare to the Star Tribune’s ancient map HERE. Yeeah.

Here are some links to others, if you’re interested: DOT’s map and traffic cams here, Traffic.com’s, WCCO’s, KARE11’s, Fox 9’s, KSTP’s, here’s an Apple Dashboard traffic cam widget. Wow.

Hopefully soon you’ll be able to access all of this data in your car, as you know it’s going to change the second you walk out to the garage.

Wow, that map is sweet. If I actually commuted during rush hour, I’d definitely check that every day.
