Antoine’s
I went to Antoine’s on Friday, the restaurant that was written about here a week or so ago, and it was delicious. I shared the gumbo and the catfish with my mom, and there was plenty for the two of us to share. We were greeted by the owner, and she was very attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Since my mom and I are both from the southern part of the US, we talked with her about what kind of stuff will be added to the menu. Cornbread is on its way, and it’ll be traditional southern cornbread. What you typically find in Minnesota is way too sweet and fluffy. More of a corn cake, really. This should be the real stuff. My mom is hoping they add okra to the menu soon. I definitely need to go back to try some more stuff.
If you head over this afternoon, they’ll have a cajun band playing. On Hennepin, just south of 28th. It’s delicious, I garowntee! (Sorry, about that - a little Justin Wilson showing through)

Yum. Glad to hear a good review! I haven’t made it over there, yet, but I’m about to move to right nearby, so I’m sure it won’t be long.
Hey all,
I am of African decent and i’ve been looking for a good African American restaurant and bingo Antoine’s opens in Up-town..
I must say that Antoine’s is one of my Top five restaurant in town…i give it a Ten for creativity and superb antic collections in the restaurant (kinda looks authentic), food it doesn’t get better than that..bravo bravo Antoines, location and the motherly love of the owner( very nice personality) it makes it feel like home.My support always, i will be back to check out that Cajun Band..
My boyfriend and I have eaten at Antoine’s twice and we love it. We were both born and raised in the New Orleans area so we take our food seriously! It is a bit pricey but it’s a minor sacrifice for good food.
Get red beans and rice on a Monday- it’s a Louisiana tradition!
