Wanna coach the T-wolves? It can’t hurt

Earlier this week, on again/off again Timberwolves coach Kevin McHale blamed bloggers for coaching change-ups in the NBA:
“I think you’re going to see more and more shorter term stuff in our league,” he said. “Just because the access now, there’s so much media availability and everything else. There’s just so many bloggers; everybody’s got an opinion. There’s all kinds of stuff going on. Sometimes that starts forming the opinion of people in front offices, too, and owner. It’s been kind of a crazy year so far.”
So here’s this blogger’s opinion — let’s take turns coaching. It can’t get worse.
Just look at these headlines from our 11th agonizing loss last night:
- Minnesota Timberwolves lose 11th straight in lowlight-filled performance
- LeBron’s 30 points lead Cavs past Wolves, 93-70
- The Final Dime – Cavaliers 93, Timberwolves 70
- LeBron James makes it look easy
- Woeful T-Wolves Drop 11th straight; Fall To Cavaliers
- Cavs extend Minnesota losing skid
- Cavs Back On Winning Track, Beat Struggling Timberwolves
- LeBron provides a stirring spectacle: The Cavs star did it all against the Wolves. He scored, passed, rebounded — and sang Christmas karaoke during timeouts.
That last one (from the Strib, btw) really hurts.

I’m in, how much fun would this be.
I love the fact that McHale is blaming bloggers. He has gotten away with destroying an entire franchise without losing his job, yet is complaining about outsiders. If Glen Taylor listened to bloggers McHale would have been out the door 5 years ago.
Actually, you are touching on one of my life long dreams. The dream to be a failed NBA or NFL coach. The way I see it I sign cheap at about 3 mil a year for 5 years, fail, get fired after about 1.5 years and then have 3.5 years to collect on my contract. Which dovetails nicely with another one of my life long dreams, someone paying me to stay home.
[...] Kevin McHale is a pussy. That’s probably not the real title of that. But I love that he blames blogger for tainting everyone’s opinions. Kevin McHale and TAINT in the same post? WIN.
