I would hope the McCain Case Study would prove that trying to be a Democrat will just spurn people to vote for a *real* Democrat. Would love to see a true conservative nominee for the Republican Party in 2012, and that's definitely not Pawlenty. Edit: Forgot to add, Pawlenty doesn't recognize new media/blogging/citizen journalism as relevant. I think the Obama campaign push and now proposed YouTube Fireside Chats will ensure the next Republican nominee not only uses e-mail (which McCain "had heard of") but also *gets* social media. That's also not Pawlenty. Why would the Republicans want another moderate? Also, I must admit that Sarah Palin brought the most hilarity out of all of the elections I've been old enough to care about. I mean, even Ross Perot's running mate couldn't match her peerless sentence "structure" and her doublespeak pronouncements. Now that we're in a safe place where Obama has a mandate and Palin isn't anywhere close to the VP spot (2012 polls notwithstanding), I can laugh even harder than before.
