It's basically Maple Grove, but older. Eden Prairie, but a little less snooty. It's completely unremarkable. Maybe that's the real draw. No "charm" (historical or manufactured). Interestingness attracts hooligans. It's pleasantly boring. I lived in Plymouth for an appalling 3 or so years out of the eight-ish that I’ve been here. It’s basically Maple Grove, but older. Plymouth doesn't have a mall (that's in Minnetonka), Plymouth doesn't have a restaurant or other retail district (that's in Maple Grove), Plymouth doesn't have much of an arts scene (that'd be in Minneapolis, St. Paul, or even Hopkins and Golden Valley)... basically all Plymouth has is a movie theater--and not even a great one.
