Just Another Music Friday – 8/08/2008

It’s Friday and I am ready to heat up this weekend with some rock and roll.

Alright, all you Metblogtastics, I need a little help. Do you go to shows and take pictures and/or know someone that does? The Metroblogging Minneapolis (Pool) is running a little dry of things music related.  Heck, take a picture of your kids playing “Indiana Jones” theme on the violin and Flicker tag it. In the mean time, heard any good local music lately? What do you have playing on your iPod,stereo, computer or Mp3 player?

You might want to check that flickr pool link.

I’ve had the terrible combination of DJ Assault’s "Ass N Titties" and George Michael’s "I Want Your Sex" in my head this week. Not local, but that’s what’s there.

Thanks. I hate it when I mess up a link.

I can totally understand the "Ass N Titties", but what the hell is up with the sudden resurgence of George Michael? I swear in the last few weeks I’ve been hearing more and more G.M. chatter.

Not local, but that’s what’s there.
I figure if I fish for some local music and use local pics that’s enough to keep the post local. Music is universal.

I’m looking forward to getting the new Hold Steady release this weekend.

Bleh on The Hold Steady. The new Sick of Sarah is good. It’s their CD Release show tonight. I got the new High on Stress today, and it’s very promising. Non-local: Johnny Cash Remixed has been a big favorite of mine this week. Also, the new Raine Maida solo album (Our Lady Peace frontman) is pretty sweet.
