Bicycle Master Plan Open House on Wednesday

bicyclesThe City of Minneapolis is seeking public input for the new Bicycle Master Plan. Wednesday, June 18, 4:30 to 8:00pm in Room 319 of City Hall.

The last bicycle plan was approved in 2001, and the new 2008 plan will go farther in depth, including goals, policies, design guidance, and a map of future facilities. The plan will focus on education, enforcement, engineering, encouragement, evaluation, and equity – all elements required to make a city bicycle friendly. The plan will also include a prioritized list of projects and initiatives.

Brief presentations at 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm. Contact Don Pflaum at (612) 673-2129 or donald.pflaum@ci.minneapolis.mn.us with questions on the plan.

When it comes to bikes my biggest gripe about Mpls is the lack of places and/or safe places to chain the bike up.
