The Mothership Connection Was Here
Who could have guessed Kanye West was headed for a media storm and a major melt down?
Steve Marsh, that’s who: ’At the end of Kanye West’s Glow in the Dark concert at Target Center last night; after Kanye’s spaceship triumphantly returned to earth (yeah, literally); after he did all the hits and publicly eulogized his mother; after he brought out Lupe Fiasco to duet on a searing version of “Touch the Sky”; after the greatest arena rap concert that’s ever been performed; the crowd was treated to a bizarre encore: From the lip of the stage, in front of his orchestra pit, Kanye went on a stunning, nearly twenty-minute rant against the media. ‘He told his 10,000 fans that after witnessing what they had just witnessed, go out and read the reviews, and watch the coverage, and be skeptical of the haters’
And, yowzer, Kanye is doing his best to have haters.
Though, there’s no hate from Marsh who made a tear well up in my eye with ‘ I’m going to tell you what we all saw, objectively, to the best of my abilities: We just saw a Great American’
Ofcourse, in Minnesota Kanye’s spaceship landed on time.
Which Minnesota concert was your biggest letdown and which was your biggest inspiration?
Come on, you can tell me.

Sounds similar to the latest Indiana Jones, which, while not a concert, was still a letdown.
Justin – That is hilarious. I’m glad I wait for most movies to be on DVD before I watch them. Then,if they suck,I can surf the web.
As for shows that were a let down, I saw Helmet a while back on the G&R tour and the crowd really let me down. They rocked out big time and most of the audience looked like they were ready for bed.
Most Enjoyed: Guster at the Zoo last summer. Coleman Lindberg at Bryant-Lake Bowl.
Least Enjoyed: There was something involving a punk band and screaming at the Hexagon bar. No offense to the musician I know that was in the band.
I’d expect nothing less than an odd concert from Kanye. Sure, he’s talented but his way of voicing his opinions will do nothing more than to whittle down his fan base.
As for worst concert, I’d have to say the band "Cornershop". They were nothing short of pricks and deserved the mud people were hurling on to the stage.
Sornie, really? That’s disheartening; I love Cornershop.
Erica – I’ve heard about that Guster show a few times now. The Zoo really puts on some good music.
