Cuba: The Most Important Thing Our Legislature Could Be Discussing Right Now
The US trade embargo on Cuba is nothing but stupid any more. So the fact that the Minnesota State House voted to tell the US Congress to end the sanctions is a pretty good thing. Right?
I’m gonna have to defer to a Republican on this one:
House Minority Leader Marty Seifert, R-Marshall, questioned the value of spending time on a memorial resolution when the state’s budget deficit still isn’t resolved.
Oh yeah, there is that whole budget thing. However you think the budget should be stitched up, I think we can all agree we should probably leave the political posturing and message sending to times when the legislature’s back isn’t up against the wall to get it all done by next month.
Y’know, this is why state governments shut down.
