Batman’s "The Dark Knight" guerilla promo comes to Minneapolis

The marketers behind Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” — the follow-up to 2005’s “Batman Begins” — are extremely smart.

They’ve built a faux political program strategy urging people of all ages to get active by organizing rallies, meet-ups, petition drives, and posting signs and placards in neighborhoods. You can see examples here.

The Dentmobile is coming to Minneapolis Saint Paul on Friday, March 21st:

  • 12-2 p.m. : Mall of America
  • 5-5:45 p.m. : Target Center
  • 6-7 p.m. : Xcel Energy Center

You can make your own signs using the materials here.

Dent is expected to make his decision whether to run for Gotham District Attorney within weeks, so our support really could make a difference!

Back in the real world, “The Dark Knight” hits theaters on July 18.

As someone who beats his head against the wall to get people to notice real politics, this offends me slightly. Maybe I need to start launching guerilla campaigns for office or something.
