Howdy
So, I’m originally from Texas (where a few of your other hosts have been hiding out lately). But, 9 years ago, I met a girl from White Bear Lake (you know, Go Bears!?), fell in love, and had to stay.
I find it easy to get immersed in a city like NYC, or Seattle. I want to discover the immersive nature of the TwinCities. There’s not doubt we’ve a great music scene, tons of great independent restaurants/bars, and a growing creative class. I’m on a quest to find these people and places.
Oh, and I’m kind of a geek. Hopefully in a good way. So my brief attention span often gets distracted by shiny, designy, codey, weby people and projects. I don’t know if this is a warning or a welcome introduction. I just though I should say hi, before jumping into the conversation.
Hi.

Thomas, welcome to MB! What’s the biggest non-weather difference you’ve noticed between Tx and Mn?
Hi, Thomas! Happy to have you. :)
Thanks for the welcome, I’m looking forward to it!
Non-weather… um, I guess in TX it’s considered friendly to be very direct and talk to strangers. In MN, it’s friendly to keep your opinions to yourself and ‘be nice.’ =)
Welcome! Check out the Triple Rock, First Ave, Hard Times, the M.I.A, Spyhouse, Java Jack’s, and any restaurant on Eat Street. That should give you a good start.
Oh, and the CC Club and Little T’s.
aliecat, Thanks for the tips! Some of those are favorites, and some I still need to check out. (I *have* the bulldog in NE to the list though, if you don’t mind?)
I forgot about the Bulldog…
