Attention Minnesotan SXSWers
I’ve been in Austin for two days gearing up for the 21st Annual South by Southwest Interactive, Film and Music Festival. It’s warm here. I mean, really warm. Like wear short sleeves and cackle with glee that it’s snowing back home warm. Sorry, but it’s true. :)
Erica and I will be at SXSW Interactive again this year, and we would love to meet up with you. Since we’ll both be at the official Metroblogging meet-up, we figured we would go ahead and invite you — our fellow Twin Citizens. Right now it looks like folks from Metroblogging Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Houston will be there — and maybe others.
It’s funny. Last year I met Erica (in “real life”) for the very time at the Metroblogging meet-up at SXSW. This year, we’d love to see meet you for the first time down in Austin, too.
Metroblogging Meetup: Sunday, March 9th at 5 p.m. at Rio Rita.
Otherwise, follow us on Twitter and surprise us over the course of the conference
On the music side, Reveille Magazine and Eclectone Records are hosting the first annual “Bastards of Young” Minneapolis Music Day Party on Saturday, March 15th at The Molotov Lounge with Hojas Rojas, Romantica, The Alarmists , Big Ditch Road, Cloud Cult, Kid Dakota and Doomtree.
50 Records is hosting a party Friday, March 14th from 1-6 pm at Club Fuze with White Light Riot, Elevation, Melismatics, The Dollyrots and The Effects.
I’m sure there are plenty more Minneapolis-related events going on over the next two weeks here in Austin, so please post others in the comments.
Oh yeah, and this guy needs a ride to Austin. Any takers?
