Compost Captains
This job better come with a t-shirt or hat or button or something.
Linden Hills residents who are interested in becoming “compost captains” for the neighborhood’s source-separated organics pilot program can attend a meeting Wednesday….
Captains will be responsible for educating the neighbors on their blocks about how to sign up for the program, which is scheduled to begin in March. Participating homeowners will get green, wheeled bins that look like garbage cans to use as receptacles for recycling organic waste such as table scraps, lawn clippings and pizza boxes. The city would pick up the waste every two weeks along with residents’ regular recycling, and take it to a compost facility in the suburbs.
