35W Bridge Lecture Series at the U

The U’s Telling River Stories series started last Tuesday with a talk by Judith Martin of the U’s Urban Studies program entitled “City Bridges–Imagined and Real,” and artist Mona Smith entitled “Dakota Speak of Rivers.”

10/23 Chris Paola, Earth Science Geology/Geophysics, National Center for Earth-Surface Dynamics, University of Minnesota

10/30 Hokan Miller, Upper River Services, “Between Prairie and Sea: The Mississippi River as a Continental Transportation System.”

11/6 John Adams, Associate Dean, Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota, “A Vital Cog in the Regional Network: the New Bridge as a Transportation Link.”

11/13 Tom Fisher, Dean, College of Design, University of Minnesota, “The Design of a New Bridge”

11/20 Lance Neckar, Professor of Landscape Architecture, University of Minnesota, “Integrated Design: Sustainable Community”

All lectures are from 5-6pm in 100 Rapson Hall.
