Minneapolis News of Note
–Larry Craig supporters call for boycott of MSP Airport: “The American Land Rights Association, which has an office in Washington, D-C, advocates for the use of federal lands and against what it calls federal “land grabs.” The association says the airport should apologize to Craig for what it calls “ambushing” the senator.”
While I agree that we have a major issue with iminent domain/government land grabs, boycotting an airport in the name of a senator who plead guilty to doing something obscene is not the best way to bring attention to an issue. Besides, I doubt anyone will drive to Des Moines or Chicago airports just to stick it to congress.
–Local Fox affiliate KMSP agreed to buy about 400 Vikings tickets that remained for Sunday’s game, thus avoiding a blackout. They’re donating them to I-35W bridge victims/families. Although the game is technically sold out, there are still 2,000 tickets left. Oh, but I checked and those remaining are $79 + 6.50 (ticketbastard fee), and the majority of Twin Citizens don’t have nearly $100 bucks/family member to blow on a game with no standout players when we may not have a chance of winning. Sorry Vikes. Guess I’ll watch you on TV for free like always.
–Tay Zonday, the 25 year-old Minneapolis doctorate student whose “Chocolate Rain” YouTube video went viral and gained him international fame, has a new video. It’s…umm…proof that 15 minutes of fame should end after 15 minutes.
