Twin Cities Women’s Choir Open Rehearsals
On Wednesday September 5 and September 12, the Twin Cities Women’s Choir will be holding open rehearsals at Calvary Lutheran Church (39th & Chicago). Our mission is to sing, perform, and affirm the voices of women.
The TCWC is a non-auditioned choir, so if (you are a woman and) you like to sing but the idea of anyone actually listening to you makes you real nervous (like me), this is the group for you. The purpose of the open rehearsals is not for us to audition you, but for you to audition us. If you already know what section you’ll fit best in, that’s cool, but if you don’t we’ll do some exercises that will help you to figure that out. The requirements of you are that you can stay on pitch and on your part.
The fall/winter season runs September through February. The spring season runs February through May. We rehearse from 7-9pm every Wednesday. We have three concerts this year (December, February, and May) and have a number of community and collaborative performances scheduled as well. (Last year we sang at Orchestra Hall for the Ann Bancroft Awards, at the Fitzgerald Theater for an MPR show with Ann Reed, and for the Westminster Townhall Forum.) We’ll be recording our 3rd CD next summer.
Hit the website for more information or drop a comment if you have questions for me.
Joining the TCWC is one of the best and most fulfilling things I have ever done. This is a wonderful and welcoming group of women. Being a part of a choir is truly an example of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.
Seriously. So much fun.

Damn. I would totally do this if it didn’t conflict with my Wednesday night yoga class.
You can still join up in February. :)
