She posts up a neat little internet tool called Walk Score… which, when you type in your address, gives you a little map of places you’d want to walk to in your neighborhood, as well as a score. My little slice of Nordeast heaven got a 63, but possibly this is because I live so close to the river and, well, there aren’t as many floating businesses as one would imagine.
Anyway… it gives you a good idea of how walkable your neighborhood is, as well as some damned good reasons to get out, walk around (and drink some more?) … thought it was appropriate for this national night out.
My spot in Uptown got a 95.
Daily Secrets looks pretty good, but the author needs to request a new pen-and-ink caricature. I’m sure she’s lovely in the real world, but going from this illustration, I’d have to say: “SHE’S A MAN, BABY, A MAN!”
