where are people directing help?

I feel like we have a really tightly-knit community who helps out when necessary, and I don’t doubt this will happen with the aftermath of the 35W bridge-collapse.

That being said, the only place I have seen or heard of that is looking for help/donations is the Red Cross.

Who else is out there, helping? Have victims’ funds been set up? Are river environmental agencies getting involved in helping with clean up? Does anyone know of good charities where money, volunteering time, other types of donations can go?

I’m going to answer my own question with another good idea (thanks, Erica!):

    http://www.puc-mn.org/Default.aspx?tabid=390

“Make a donation to the Waite House Community Center Fund to support
children and families involved in the 35W bridge collapse by
designating your gift to the Waite House Bridge Disaster Fund. You may
also call 1-888-642-3040 to make your donation over the phone”

The kids on the bus were part of a Waite House program.
