Another Uptown Incident at 31st and Humboldt

Clutch the pearls! Reader Angie sent along this firsthand account:

There was something going on near 31st and Humboldt last night. There were cops at every intersection, there was a near-bust, with a cop throwing a kid down and cuffing him, only to let him go right after. Their was a cop car at every intersection, and a cop on foot every half-block. Seemed obvious they were looking for someone, and they didnt think he got too far. It was pretty freaky when someone came running up the hallway here in my small 4-apt complex. There is a vacant, and open, apt across from mine, and my roommate said he saw someone go in there. We thought maybe it was the guy they were looking for. Or maybe it was our landlord guy, just checking stuff out. Who knows?

I believe we’re talking Saturday night. You’ll recall that 31st and Humboldt is that same block a couple blocks over from where Michael Zebuhr got shot in the face (the only homicide in Calhoun-Isles last year).

I haven’t seen anything yet at Minneapolis-St. Paul Crime Watch or any mention in a quick skim of the dailies. Anybody know anything?

The Uptown shooting was at 31st and Girard, which is on the other side of Hennepin. The Kare11 article you link to will confirm that.

That just occurred to me, and then I read your comment.

And even though it’s only a couple blocks over, it’s not the same as being in site of Calhoun Square. Still, it’s unusual in this neighborhood.
