Drink Plenty of Fluids, Minnesota

iamhot.JPGWe’re not breaking any records today, but it’s a HOT Independence Day. Weather.com shows our humidity level increasing from 40 percent right now to 73 percent by 5 a.m. Minnesota doesn’t get hot and sticky often, so pay attention to your fluids and drink up!

My family and I hit the Eagan Fun Fest parade this morning. Luckily we found a tree, although as the two hour parade went on, the sun seemed to find us. There was almost more water than candy being handed out. We watched one unlucky trombonist from the Lakeville High School Marching Band pass out and be ambulanced out. Yowsa.

Naturally, we got home and learned our air conditioning has conked out. Blew a fuse and melted the fusebox outside by the compressor. It’s being worked on right now, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a sticky night after we catch the fireworks.

I went for a run right after yesterday afternoon’s rainfall and it was insanely humid. Not comfortable at all. Humidity is uncomfortable anyway, but it’s the worst when you’re active and your sweat won’t evaporate. Ugh.

Er, either this is a really bad joke, or you haven’t been here long. ;)

Eh, I’ve been here long enough to know compared to Iowa, Missouri, Houston, Atlanta, Louisiana, Arkansas, etc. etc. we don’t get hot and sticky often.
