Public Sex: Cool for the straights but not for the gays?
Andy Birkey posting at Minnesota Monitor points out the curious juxtaposition of a vita.mn story celebrating public sex and the more negative slant on the recent arrests of men in Burnsville for alleged indecent exposure.
Most folks will chime in and say public sex is right/wrong/gross/not no matter who’s doing it. I’d say that a story in vita.mn and a story in the Star Tribune is an apples to oranges comparison. But I see Andy’s point about the media treatment.
Looks like the moral of the story is have your fun, just don’t get caught. (And thanks for all the ideas!)

Might there be some connection to the fact that gay sex between men is seen as icky, but gay sex between women is worth making movies of?
Or maybe it’s just because nekkid guys are hairy and kinda icky.
i think it was more that several men were meeting at once. if it’s just a couple getting it on in loring park, that’s seen as hot, no matter what their sexual orientation. if there’s a group of 30 in loring park, that’s sort of gross, no matter what the orientation.
however, lots of older homosexuals are still pretty repressed, so this is understandable … as the professor says in the story “it is something they can do rather surreptitiously and not really want or need to have integrated into the rest of their life.”
hey where do i watch? haha
