Supporters of immigrant rights have scheduled a candlelight vigil at 7:30 this evening at the Hennepin County Government Center Plaza [1], in response to the recent crackdown in Willmar [2].
From buzz.mn [3]:
Why:To urge support for a temporary restraining order that Centro Legal has asked for against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office of the Department of Homeland Security. A ruling is expected Thursday. At issue: Since April 10, the legal advocacy group Centro Legal says immigration agents have conducted a series of “warrantless and nonconsensual raids” of Latino homes and acted in discriminatory fashion against Latinos in public places.
