Bomb Threat at the University of Minnesota - No bombs found
Received the following email this afternoon from the U of M.
Early this afternoon, a professor in Smith Hall found a note that included
a bomb threat against a number of buildings on the University of Minnesota
campus.
Seven buildings on the East Bank campus are in the process of being
evacuated due to a bomb threat. They include: Kohltoff, Smith, Frasier,
Johnston and Morrill Halls as well as Walter Library and the Science
Classroom Building. All classes and meetings in these buildings have
been canceled for the remainder of the day. Students are asked to
return to their residence halls or their off-campus housing. Please do
not congregate in the Mall area.
More coverage from the Star Tribune.
Looks like the University was swift and through in their actions. A good thing in light of what occured earlier this week at Virginia Tech.

I was on the St Paul campus yesterday afternoon. Weird. Didn’t hear a peep. Which might be good? There was a conference going on. Of course I was just there. I’m not student/faculty/staff.
I saw a Twitter about it. Fortunately that was after I had left.
Dhaval here of NYC Metblogs; I went to a specialized “magnet” high school called Bronx Science.
Bomb threats used to happen at our high school all the time. I was told once by the dean of the school that if he reported bomb threats as often as they came in; we’d have to evacuate the school daily.
Apparently, there was also a Girls Gone Wild bus smackdab in the middle of it all.
Hey, wasn’t Bronx Science the arch-enemy of the kids at the school in “Head of the Class”? I loved that show.
Also the Daily posted the photo of the threat letter that the kid who found it took.
I would totally do that. Take a photo before I called 911.
