Uncle Al Day

Posted By Hannah Valentine On April 9, 2007 @ 11:30 am In Uncategorized | Comments Disabled

The Strib has declared today “Uncle Al Day” in honor of their food columinist Al Sicherman who retired last month. His last column [1] is in the paper today. They’re throwing a little party from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, details under the cut.

PARTY PLANNED FOR ‘UNCLE AL’ [2]

All of Uncle Al’s fans are invited to a party to thank Al for the enjoyment he’s provided over the years with his Star Tribune columns. It’s an appetizer potluck (what could be more fitting for a Minnesota food writer?), with beverages provided.

The party is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Van Dusen Center, 1900 LaSalle Av. S., Minneapolis. Park in the Minnesota Church Center lot (entrance on Pillsbury Avenue S.).

Gather up your favorite Al memory — perhaps a column saved or a recipe that became a favorite — and add it to the thank-you card that will be assembled at the party.

RSVP to c1900@sihope.com [3] or call 612-874-1900 if you’re planning to attend. See www.buzz.mn [4] for more information.
