seeing more seafood

After a lovely Easter weekend with the family, there was talk of a Saturday Seafood feed in coming weeks (there’s a significant rise in familial gatherings in comings months, with summer and graduations and celebrations of all sorts).

Everyone started naming their favorite seafoods, and my significant other and I shared one of those I-So-Know-What-You’re-Thinking moments: Coastal Seafoods.

Then I read Consider the Egg this afternoon, featuring mussels and a delicious ale — which inspired me even further.
So lent’s over. This Catholic girl still thinks she’s going to be seeing more seafood. Hands down, Coastal is the best place to get seafood in our fair city. Anyone else have a good seafood retailer to recommend (seeing as how we’re landlocked and all?) I know I’m not going to find fresh salmon for breakfast like I did last summer on the west coast of Ireland, but we make do in the midwest… right?

I keep hearing about Coastal Seafoods. Maybe because they advertise heavily on FM107 (heh). Seems like the best local option for fresh-as-possible-from-the-coast seafood. Isn’t there where most local restaurants get their seafood?

I’m thinking so… My SO used to work at a high-end restaurant, and I *think* that’s where he first heard of Coastal.

Do we have any chef-restaurant-service-industry-type readers out there who could confirm?
