Town Talk Diner owners’ newest venture : A pasta shop

Those of us that are fans of Town Talk Diner have been waiting in anticipation of a few new ventures that the owners have in the works. Well, Girl Friday has the scoop today. They are going to open a pasta shop on East Lake street, fittingly called the East Lake Pasta Shop, later this summer.

I, for one, am excited that they are opening more ventures. I love the food at the Town Talk, and look forward to more culinary options.

Lately on the weekends, the Town Talk has been packed house full, to the point where you almost couldn’t even get in the door. The popularity of the place has surged even more in recent months. Awesome that owners Tim, Aaron and David are leveraging their success with Town Talk into other ventures.

And those of you that still haven’t been to the Town Talk yet, what are you waiting for?

I’m waiting for the 15th! Some friends and I are going to check it out for breakfast.

    Ugh.

I live within three blocks of Town Talk. I think it’s overpriced for the amount and quality of the food and the selection is far too limited. It would be better if the yups wandered down the block to Calypso where there is better food and more selection, but then again I must thank my lucky stars that people haven’t caught on yet and I can get a meal in peace with quality service.

I just looooove Town Talk, the whole one time I’ve been there. I still dream about the polish sausage. Mmmm.

I’m pretty seriously pro-Town Talk, I have to say. Best fried cheese curds I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve had ’em all over the cheese curd belt. I wrote them up for CHOW at one point… http://www.chow.com/stories/10149

I almost always get the special and have really liked what they’ve come up with. It’s on my list of favorite places to take out of town guests, along with the Loring Pasta Bar, Birchwood Cafe, and Cafe Barbette.

I adore the Town Talk Diner. It’s easily my favorite place in town. Not just because you can get a 40 of High Life poured for you in champagne glasses, and not just because they have the best garlic fries in the world, and not just because of the super-cute bartender. But for all of those reasons. And more.

Oh! east-lake posted a link to an update about the venture here.

We’re talking a smorgasbord of homemade noodles every day, homemade sauces, fresh-tossed salads with homemade dressings… the whole works.
