Was there something cloakworthy?

I can understand all the little girls dressed as Cinderella and Belle in the skyway on Friday; the Target Center was showing Disney on Ice. But what was going on with all the nerd-a-licious guys wearing hooded cloaks in City Center and Block E? There wasn’t a Lord of the Rings marathon going on was there? At first, I thought they were wearing capes, but you could see the hoods drooping down the back. They weren’t really doing anything exciting, no running around waving fake daggers or anything. Just standing around talking. I saw two or three separate groups of them. I thought about asking what was going on, but when I’m with friends at Convergence (a local sci-fi con), I get annoyed at having to constantly tell people what everyone is dressed up for when we venture out to eat. So I took the better part of valor and let them be splendid in their cloakedness.

I really need to get a digital camera so I can preserve such moments and share them with the rest of the internet.

Guessing… maybe it was for the movie ‘300′ coming out?

Maybe the aftermath of some sort of flashmob?

‘300′ would be my guess as well — especially if you were seeing it on Friday.
