Skyway Open

I’m so disappointed I didn’t hear about the Skyway Open a week ago!

Minneapolis-based architects designed an 18-hole mini golf putt putt course for the skyway and last weekend people competed for prizes. There are a few pictures on flickr. I like the Stone Arch Bridge and the cardboard skyline.

Proceeds went to benefit Minneapolis SafeZone, a non-profit working to improve safety downtown by leveraging the private security force.

Thanks for featuring my photos! I figured there would be more on flickr, but I guess it wasn’t publicized enough.

I’m glad someone got photos. And yours are pretty good, too.

You’re right about the publicity. As I was going through the website I was noticing all the sponsorship and slick production. For all that, I’m really surprised that I hadn’t heard about it beforehand. Not that I’m all that in the know, but there was not a peep about it anywhere that I saw on the internet until after the fact.

I wonder who exactly their target audience was.

I think it was only advertised in the Skyway News (Downtown Journal). We signed up a week or so before hand, and all of the “tee times” were full, save for 8:00 p.m.
