“Man, 35, stabbed in the back after arguing with 19-year-old girlfriend”
A domestic dispute led to a stabbing in an apartment in Coon Rapids and ended with a man in critical condition, and his girlfriend and her brother injured Wednesday evening.
The dispute started after a 35-year-old man went to visit his girlfriend, 19, at her mother’s apartment, where the girl lived with her year-old son and brother, 21, said Anoka County Sheriff’s Capt. Bob Aldrich.
He said the couple got in an argument that left the 19-year-old with a bloody, broken nose. Her mother sent her across the hall to an apartment and tried to get the boyfriend to leave. The brother got involved and was punched in the eye. He apparently grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the back, Aldrich said.
The brother, still hospitalized with a broken facial bone, could be charged or be cleared for acting in self defense, Aldrich said. The girlfriend was also at Mercy Medical Center in Coon Rapids for her broken nose.
The 35-year-old boyfriend was in critical condition Thursday at Hennepin County Medical Center, police said.
