Holidazzle, anyone?

img_colorBook_sm.gifAnyone go to the Holidazzle Parade yet this year? Without snow, it doesn’t seem like a very fun winter parade experience.

Last year I skipped it for a third year, and seeing as how this is my fourth year in the cities, am thinking I should fight the traffic, cold and early start time (6:30) to see it.

After all, we still have a month until the St. Paul Winter Carnival complete with Vulcan debauchery.

I don’t know, those Vulcans have been pretty active since last winter - I hear/see them driving past my apartment all the time!

I haven’t ever been to a Holidazzle parade. I try to avoid the local news like the plague, so I guess I never really know when it’s even going on.

I can’t avoid the local news (since I work in it) or the Holidazzle (since it’s out my front door). I recommend checking it out at least once. And don’t wimp out by watching in the skyways. Stand next to a couple kids.. and watch them go nuts. Whoop and hollar at the people in the parade– and give them hi five’s. Make it an event. It’s hard to not smile at the goofy people wearing batteries and lights.

It goes every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. Go get a crepe from Vincent at 11th & Nicollet.

Okay, now I don’t have a choice. But I’m only going for the crepe….
