Prince, Dylan, and the Grammy Awards

Minneapolis’ 6th gift to the world, the “Minneapolis Sound,” and Minneapolis’ 4th gift to the world, Bob Dylan, are making a big splash in Grammy Awards nominations.

Prince got 5 nominations:

“Black Sweat” is nominated in the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song categories. “3121,” the song, is nominated in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category. 3121, the album, is nominated in the Best R&B Album category. “Beautiful, Loved and Blessed” is nominated for the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group (Prince and Tamar).

Bob Dylan scored 3 nominations:

Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for “Someday Baby,” Best Rock Song also for “Someday Baby,” and Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album: “Modern Times.”
