Foggy but fall temps

I wonder if this will be the last week for scooter riding. With temps in the 50s and 60s, I’ll be out enjoying what might be my final scooter days for the year. Everyone has been asking if I’ve put it into storage yet, but I’m glad I haven’t so far. I did learn that they don’t handle very well on ice, when I wiped out a few weeks ago on 3rd when I hit the only sheet of ice in the Twin Cities. It was the super cold Thursday about three weeks ago, but the streets were dry. I bundled up, and took off for work. I had never tried to cross ice before, and I never will again, at least not without walking the scoot. The scoot survived, I survived with a swollen knee and a big scab, and a little more wisdom.

But meanwhile, the weather is warm and I’m mobile.

I keep looking at the weather for next weekend and cringing. Granted we’ve already had it worse earlier this fall, but still…. Can’t it just stay like it is right now until March?

I’ve always believed that real men and real women power their two-wheeled vehicles with their legs. Ditch the lame scooter, get a bike, ride all winter. Lots of people do it, it’s great.
