Minneapolis Bike Love
I’m not at all a hardcore biker, but I’ve been pondering what to wear for winter riding. I happened across the Minneapolis Bike Love forum and started to read up. Hours later I was still scrolling through.
They’ve got everything from rides and races around town to clothing suggestions to accessories and hardware and basically anything you can think of that’s related to biking more than casually around town. Great source of info.
Makes me want to hop on my bike more.

Winter wear? I can tell ya, depends where you bike and for how far.
I bike a good distance, 6.5 miles, through uptown, downtown, st. anthony to NE. It’s windy and scary as of late, I tend to sweat a lot, so I don’t over-do stuff, otherwise half way through the ride i have to stop. I basically start cold enough to bear, and end up warming up part of the way there.
Today it was a t-shirt, a long sleeve T-shirt and a thin sweater covered with a wind breaker.
On the way back I took off the sweater.
I have two sets of gloves, but I can usually stick with the somewhat warmer ones.
I also have a headband which helsp my ears, nd in the bsolute worst winds nd cold, I have a face mask which helps a ton.
Alright, Dave, I’m coming to you when I have questions.
I was ready for the face mask while I was out running last night. The Greenway was a freaking wind tunnel.
