Southdale Turns 50

Southdale Center is celebrating 50 years as the nation’s first enclosed shopping center, according to KSTP, and they’re celebrating in pretty big fashion.

Between October 1 - December 21, there are events happening throughout the mall for people of all ages, including a Strolling Historical Art Gallery featured in several stores through November and the typical Halloween activities for the kids (and adults, I suppose) next week.

I don’t really hit up Southdale, unless it’s for a movie or a few drinks at Ruby Tuesday, but having been in business for 50 years, they must be doing something right there.
