Electropolis Plays Metropolis on Sunday

Metropolis-performance.jpgIn case you missed the second-ever performance in February, wanted to be sure everyone was aware of the third-ever performance of Electropolis Plays Metropolis, this Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Cedar Cultural Center.

Electropolis is a local avant-garde psychedelic jazz meets experimental rock quartet known for their improvisational talents with homemade instruments and song structure. This special concert is a live, interpretive performance of the soundtrack to Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, the classic 1927 silent sci-fi film.

I have the DVD of the first performance (also at the Cedar) and caught the February show at the Southern Theater in February. Watching musicians improvise a 2 hour soundtrack so that melodies, plot twists and themes all string together like an original soundtrack is truly a sight and sound to behold. Tix are only $15 at the door and costumes are encouraged!
