Rentometer
After spending this past weekend in the Windy City, I decided to check out Metroblogging Chicago, where I found a link to Rentometer.com. It uses Google Maps to plot out various rental units around where you may be renting or thinking about renting, then via iProperty, it ranks the rent value you’ve entered to see how it fits into the rest of the neighborhoods average rent.
I used a random Uptown address I found via Rent411.com for this example:

Now, you can’t really fill in aneminities like a hot tub or air conditioning, but it at least gives you a general idea of what to expect to be paying or whether or not you should be pissed about the amount you currently pay for a roach-infested studio apartment with a broken down murphy bed.
