Two Anti-Bush Protests Scheduled Today
A group called The World Can’t Wait is calling today, October 5, the Day of Mass Resistance and organizing anti-Bush protests in over 150 cities across the country today. There are two planned for MN, one in Inver Grove Heights and one at the Federal Building in downtown Minneapolis.
The schedule for Minneapolis is as follows:
11:30 a.m. Protest of Accountability at the Federal Building
1 p.m. Justice March - Hennepin Ave.
3-7 p.m. Musical Celebration for Peace and Justice
So if you missed the protesting, you can still catch the concert. No idea how these are actually going. Both events are scheduled to last until 7:00. Anyone see anything? Or participate?
UPDATE: Surlygrrrl’s got some photos.

I just checked out the StarTribune and Pioneer Press. No coverage whatsoever. I can’t find anything about this on Yahoo! News either.
Can’t say that I’m shocked that a nationwide protest demanding accountability from our leaders was ignored by the corporate media.
Anyone got any pics from the Minneapolis event?

Maybe they’re just really, really awful at self-promotion. Heck, the only time I ever hear about this stuff (not that I’d go), is the day of the event. Not exactly phenomenal marketing there.
I’d say both possibilities are entirely plausible.
Some further discussion on LJ.
